I pointed outin my last the urgent necessity of a bridge ovor the Tiraumea river, and now have 'to chronicle another very narrow osoupe from drowning, Mr H. Bonzie, contractor, essayed to cross on horsobackwhen his horse getting into deep water behaved badly and got rid of bis rider, who waa washed down into a whirlpool and was rescued by two men in a very exhausted oondition. He was quite unconsious and one finger was broken. Had it not been for tho timely aid and plucky rescue, he would have never reached land alive.
