The Electoral Hill Ims entered upon the committee stago in the Legislative Council, but no decision has yet been arrived at concerning tho women's franchise question. PUPIL TEACHERS 1 EXAMINATIONS. The Minister of Education stated yesterday that it was his opinion, and the opinion of the department, that tho demands exacted by most of the boards in pupil teachers' examinations are excessive, especially in requiring too many subjeois in one yoar. A much more reasonable regulation was drawn up some years ago, but, he regretted to say, was adopted only by the Wellington and Grey boards, r, THE FLAX INDUSTRY,
