Omandfor Crown Lank (By Telegraph-Press Association,) Napieb, Friday. There has been a great demand for Crown Lands for settlement in Hawke's Bay lately, At the Crown Lands office a ballot took place for several sections, when 164 applications were opened for one seotion in the Woodville Survey Dißtriot, Forty persons applied for a small area at Norwood, and there were alto a Urge number of applications for four one acre village sections. In Poverty Bay 119 applications were made for five sections placed on the market, and altogether in one week 843 applications were received for ten sections.
