The Flax Industry. The Government mtend t> appoint an expert hb flax grader at a salary of £4OO per annum. The salary of the grader will bo made a charge upon the flux in the form of a small duty. H.Mills will ask the Minister for Lands on Tuesdiy next if ho will pencil a selector tindor ilio " eternal lease" clause of last year's Land Act to pay the amount of tho survey fee in instalments, The payment of tho survey fee in a lump sum falls very heavily upon small selectors : at preßont, and if the request is granted it would bo a vory popular concession.
