■+Monthly Meeting. The regular tuouthly meeting of the Masterton Town Lands Trustees was held in the Borough Chambers last evening. Present; Messrs A, W. Kenall (in the chair), if. Graham, E, Feist, 8. E. Gapper, and T, P. Lett, MINUTES. The minutes of the last meeting were read and continued. treasurer's report, The Treasurer's report read to the meeting showed a credit balance at dato of £B7 14s Id. CORRESPONDENCE Was received from Charles Hughes accepting the lease of the premises nopflnied by G. Russell. OTT&. J, Eftwsou asking consideration for the buildings erected by him on the property in Hall street leased by him from the Trust. RESOLUTIONS. It was resolved that the consideration of Mr Rawson'n case be held over until next meeting, It was decided to pay tho half year's grant to tho Masterton School and the grant to St. Patrick's School as requested, FIRE BRIGADE SITE. An application was received from the Masterton Borough Council, asking for 'a further strip of .land, adjoining the section recently leased Jrom in Church Street, for HBf&ir site ior a Fire Brigade' Station. .Messrs Lowes, Gapper, and Lett Svete appointed a committee to deal with the matter, with power to act as they may think necessary, THE WAIPOUA RIVER. . A letter was received from the Council, asking if the Trust would join with the Borough ■Council, Park, and Cemetery Trusts, :in defraying the cost of obtaining an Engineer's report'on the boat method .of protecting the banks, It was agreed tosbare thecost with .the other bodies interested. • TUB CHIOS BO4RDIHO HOUSE, Mrs flunther wrote to the Trust ifltattng that a mistake h»tl been made an her tendor of 35s per week for the (Union Boarding House, and statjng ili?r willingness to take sp a lease at jgfß pef week. • It wsb resolved not to agree to any pffer, : but r to allow Mrß CJußthqr : tOj ■"■■■■' :•■><■ '■'[ ; : ;;. ii , v/ ?ii-j*'-i

It was decided to oill for tenders for tbo repairs suggested by the-com-mittee, tendem to close on Friday, 18th, ut noon, the Trustees to meet at 8 p.m, on the same day to open the same. KEPAIR3. Mr Gapper was instructed to supervise certain repairs to Trust property, stated hy him to ho mcesaary. ACCOUNTS. Tbo following account* were passed for payment :-L. J.
