MAURICEVILLE ROAD BOARD.

Ordinary Meeting.

The ordinary meeting of the Maurioeville Road Board was held on -Saturday 29th July. Present -Messrs 0.-Forsbcig (Chairman), 0. Taifc, J, Bannister, P. Anderson and J. F. Heckler. _. The minutes of the provi'ous meeb-.i i'ng were rend and confirmed; Correspondence was read from tho Clerk to the County Council inform fog Board that t'je Council will consider proposed alteration of boundaries of Districts at its next meeting, From Commissioner of Taxes, endosing form to fill in, in connection with subsidy, Mr H. Dagg waited on the Board with reference lo the ajustment of the boundary between the Upper Tauera and Mauricovillo Districts,—Tbe correspondence referring to this matter having been read it was finally de« cided to allow Mr Carswell's property to be transferred to the Upper Taueru District. Mr E, Petersen waited on the Board and requested it to retain any "thirds" coming from his section until such time as tho money oouH bo expended on a road through Section 75. The Board was agreeable pro* yided the consent of the Commissioner is got to this diversion of the thirds, Mr Petersen in the meantime to write to tho Commissioner on tbe matter. The Clerk was instructed to notify the Banger that his services will be dispensed with and to invite fresh applications for tbe post, The Clerk was also instructed to apply to the Eketahuna Beard for payment of the £lO promised (being part of accrued thirds from Mr Thorby's section) as the work, on which it was agreed to expend this money hadnowbeen executed.

Mr Moorcock was granted 30s for work done on tollgate road. In view of a creamery being erected at Hastwell, it was decided to still further improve tho tollgate, road as far as funds would permit, and Mr Falkner was instructed to prepare plans for the work. Mr Peters' offer to clear part of Bowen's road for 9s per chain was accepted. It was arranged that Mr Bannister get slips cleared on Wangaehu Road and that one or two of the members inspect the work done by Mr Rose on Cleland's Road. The balance sheet having passed the Audit Office, was adopted, Messrs McGill and Connor's deposit was retained till oertain defects in tho execution of their contract on Ml Bruce Road ate remedied to the satisfaction of tho Engineer, The Chairman and Mr Bannister were appointed to sign rate-book, and cheques amounting to £409 10s Gd wero pasafid for payment.
