THEATRE ROYAL.

Kennedy Company, The weather on Saturday evening was exceedingly rough, heavy rain falling continuously. Nevertheless, the Theatre Royal was well filled when the Kennedy Company gave the second performance of the pros- ; ent season, 'The piece staged was 1 " The Lancashire Lass" and it went 1 throughout without a hitch of any kind, That the efforts of the com- I pany were duly appreciated was evid- 1 enced by the frequent applause and i numerous recalls before the curtain. Mr J. J. Kennedy as " A Party by < the name of Johnston" scored I another big sucocss. Miss Lily Hill as " Kutli Kirby " rendered her i part admirably; and Miss Millie 1 Collier in. the dual' parts of Kate Garstone and Fannie Dan- i villa was quite a success, Mr t Frank Norton as " Robert Eedburn," (an adventurer) carried out Ins part f faithfully and with considerable ] effect! Mr Charley Hill as "Ned I ifciSiiSliill

Clayton"; Mr Harry Sanlie as "Gregory' Danville"; Mr Horace Baiter ss" Spotty " and Mr Jermyn as '• Jellick " were llso each very successful and made the most ot their : parts. All ' the minor characters were well sustained, every member of tln> company beiDg perfectly conversant with his part. New aud effective scenery was introduced, and the stage furnishings were most elaborate. To-night the celebrated drama " Current Cash " is to be produced, and as this is rrckoncd one of the most powerful pieces in the company's repertoire, it should bo well worth witnessing.
