THEATRE ROYAL.

The Kennedy Company. In spite of.soveral oounter attractions, a large*, audienceosaembled'at the Musterton Theatre Roval lust evening to welcome M r J J. lieunetly and his company in '• Our Boys," 1 This.favorite and evergreen comedy kept tin audience in one bubbleof 1 mirth from stm-'to finish, and showed to the fullest', advanraae the perfect organisation of the. company.: Mr J. 1 J. Kennedy took the part of P-rkp Middlewick (the retired bntterman),' and his'appearance on the stage' was the sisnul for round' after round. of applause, plainly demonstrating how popular he has •made himself jn Masterton. As usual, his acting was a faithful picture of the character he represented, and gave us another.example of his wonderful versatility. Sir Harry Seville, as Sir Geoffrey Ohampneys, was excflleot, while another old friend—Mr Frank Norton —gave a clover pourirayal of Talbot Champneys, Mr. Charles Hill acted well as Charlie Middlewick, making a very good impression on the audience. Miss Lily Hill, as Mary Melrose rendered her part admirably, and like Mr Kennedy was received with applause as an old friend, when she first appeared. Miss Collier—a lady new to Master ton playgoers—soon established herself as favorite, while Mrs Jermyn as Clarissa Uhampneys, the eccentrio old aunt, played her part 1 to perfection, " Little Buby Kennedy" as Belinda was quite a revelation, and the " little cockroaoh" as Mr Middlewick playfully designated her, and gave a really olever and natural 'interpretation of a difficult charaoter, soon proving tb.tt if sb.e.is a little older since last we saw her, she is also a good deal more olever, which is saying a great deal when one remembers her acting in " Little Lord Fauntleroy." All the minor parts ' wore well sustained, and the scenery and stage appointments were as good as any yet seen .in Masterton, while the ladies' dresses were very much , admired. To-night the great Bpecta> culur drama " Lancashire Lass" will be produced, with the fullest scenic effects, and should draw a bumper ) house.
