Auckland, Saturday. The Knights-of Labour have decided to ask the Premier to make the . half-holiday on Saturday compulsory, aud also passed the following resolutions :" That the circular issued to the firemen and cleaners on tbe railway by tbe Locomotive Superintendent be withdrawn, and that in 6ome oountry districts the voting is not as seoret as the ballot demands, and asks for an improvement," Sir Robert Stout's amendment to the Local Option Bill was approved urging the giving of the franchise to women,
