CORRESPONDENCE
, IZlosterton A. and P. Association. " [to the editor, w.d, times,] . Sir, -The report and balance sheet, f submitted at tho last BQ£jjk. / '>6oting 1 of this Society, disclosesaroy state j of affairs,■ and shows what every sane man has known for a long time, viz., i that the Society has no right to be in , existence. With such a balance sheet , and auditor's'report how can any one . be expected to'give support to the , 'Society ? Why do not the' committee • at once admit that the Wairarapa cannot support two ShowSj arid that j they are cot going to be the means of [ annually reproducing wbat-from a stock-owner's point of view-has i proved a farce. It is useless to blink i at the fact that a 1 show of people only , oan be relied upon, and not even this on a wet day. Imagine the position | of the Society after' one really wet i day, Preserve us from/ lugubrious faces of tbo commißn [ the day following such a catastrophe. , No I Let tbe members of the Sooiety recognise their position, admitting, as their report and past shows have revealed, that a mistake has been made and leave theshow to the SocieteAich has a prior right and Wairarapa people. MaslfWshouia , try something olse, Let it throw ita whole heart and soul into some other effort—the Caledonian 'Society, for instance. Let it extend 1 the hand of brotherhood to tbe Lower Yalley in helping it to make the pastoral show there a success, and depend upon it that part of the district will not bo • behind in helping Maaterton : in "any special effort it may make." A'really ; good day's sports, well organised, with' •: plenty of variety, will draw as big a : crowd as tho Pastoral Sooiety can bring together, If this were effected the present pastoral growth could ' • ralßociciy; V wo U ld:tbu 3 ' 9 : welj|^H
