ALFREDTON ROAD BOARD.

Special Meeting.

A special meeting of the above Board was held on July 12th,. to wind up the affairs of ilie Board. Present Messrs J, Boustead, T. H. Groves, 8, M, George, (Jecil Kebbell and H. Warren, CORKE9PONDENOE.

Correspondence inwards was received from J, 0. Donnel, rt drainage of swamp and drainage of his section, It was decided that the engineer be instructed to continue the drain on the West side of Monut Baker Road, and to make a deviation across the swamp opposite the boundaries of section 85 and 86, the cost not to exceed £IOO. • It was also resolved that the main drain be continued for three chains (6 feet wide* at top 2 feet at bottom and 3 feet deep) for the second oulvet. Aletterfroin M essrs Piatt and Abbott rt felling bush on Barton's Lino, and re slip on road, was referred to W.N.O, Council.

A writ was served on the Board by Mr W. Cross, claiming £IOO damages. -The matter was considered in committee.

Mr Kebboll moved and Mr Holmes Warren seconded that tho Chairman and Olerk of the Alfredton Road Board wait on the W.N. County Council and.supply all information with regard to the working of the Board, and give particulars of Mr Cross' claim, suggesting that the Counoilascertaintheareaof land taken by Beaufort's survey, and pay into Court the value of the land so taken. The Board also recommends that the 1 Council recompense the Chairman and Clerk for the expenses incurred by them in carrying out the wishes of the Board.—Carried. It wsb resolved to authorise Mr A, Clapham to expend £i on Flat Bush Track, Mr S. M. George to aot as overseer for the work,

An application from H, Benton for 6210s for Ponui bridge approaches was referred to the County Council.

Mr Groves moved aud Mr Dunn seconded that the W.N. County Council be asked to request the Gov ernment to legalise the deviation of Mt. Baker Boad.—Carried.

It was agreed to expend the sum of. £1 out of Mr J. Boustead's thirds in removing slips on the Ihuraua cutting, and also to grant LI towards the repair of the swing bridge leading to Mr J, Brannigan'a, Two of the boards require renewing.

ACOODNTB amounting to LI 10a 2d were passed , for'payment, .
