Monthly Meeting.

The regular monthly meeting of tho North Wairarapa Benevolent Sooiety was held at tho Counoil Chambers this morning. Present—Messrs 11.T.Holmes (Chairman), Feist, W. [Perry, Dagg,

Tho minutes of tho previous meeting were read and confirmed, The Secretary reported a' credit balance at bank of £l2 4s Bd, Four months' supply was duo fiom the United District Board. Outstanding accounts amounted to"£81 12s lid. A cheque had been received from Mr W. (i. Heard for £BS, the balanco of the amount lecovered from the Wanganui and Patea Boards. On the morion of Mr Stuckey, seconded by Mr Dagg, it was decided to write the Chairman of the United District Board, stating that unless supplies were forwarded at once the Society would have to stop the relief to the local recipients, COnUESPOiSDENC?.

From tho Audit Office, forwarding the cortified copy of the balance sheet for the year, ending Blst March, 1893.

The balanco sheet was received and adopted,

A letter was received from the Benevolent Focioty, Wellington, stating that the Old Men's Home was ready to receive patients, and that they oould accommodate four from the Wairarapa.

It was resolved to send tho man Cameron at Eketahnna, also Dunn end Ford from Masterton to the dome, if the Chairman and Secretary found it advisable to do so.

Application for reliet from the man Clark, at Grassendale, was referred to the Chairuinn and Secretary with authority to send the case to tho Old Man's Home if found desirable.

John Clark, Ekctahnna, again applied for assistance, and it was re» solved that a simitar allowance to that formerly given be guaranteed, The account of legal expenses in respect of the oaae agninst the \Y»ngftn>ii Boaid, was left in the hands of tho Chairman and Secretary,

Resolved that the price put in by Mrs Gunther, for tho accommodation of weekly and casual cases, be ao cepted, us it was considerably less than any previous offer.

The whota of the correspondence in connection with the case of the old man Reynolds was g-ine into, and it was resolved to s"-nd him to the Old Man's Homo in Wellington, and (hat the Secretary endeavour to locate the district to which ho Wongs and re-' cover the cost.

Accounts as per schedule were passed for payment when funds permit,

The notion of the Secretary in regular and casual cases was upheld, and the regular cases ordered to he contiuued till next meeting.
