MASTERTON HOSPITAL.
Meeting of Trustees.
The regular monthly meeting of Trußtecs of the Masterton Hospital was held yesterday afternoon. Present: Messrs J. C. Boddiugton (chairman), (J. S, W. Dalrymple, Barton Boys, B. P. Perry, and J, B. Keilh. MINUTES. The minutes of the last regular meeting were rent! and confirmed, ' CORRESPONDENCE. A letter was received from the Secretory of the late Hospital Ball, [enclosing a chrque for £l5O, and expressing Iho wish ( [together with the sidy)should be expended chase of instruments for the Hospital. The Chairman moved that a letter of thanks he Bent acknowledging the amount, and staling that the Trustees would endeavour to onrry out the Commit tre's wishes. Mr Keith astad if it was intended to pledge the Trustees to expend the whole of the amount in instruments, The Chairman thought tW were bound to do so, as'it this object the Ball was got up)_.. Mr Boys was of opinion the amount would he fully required, surgical in« struments being very expensive. The subscriptions bud been raised for a specific purposo,' viz.: : the Hospital Instrument Fund. .' Mr Keith said it practically meant that the medical officers of the insti-
tution would have the expenditure o! the money. Tho Chairman eaid that the dootors would select the instruments they required and certify to the invoice., Mr Keith said he was afraid that the general fund would bo affeoted, as
some persons who subscribed to the amount just received would not again contribute. After some further discussion Mr Bnys snid lie thought it quite likely that after the recent success Maßterton Hospital Ball would become an annual affiair. Mr Dalrymple considered should keep faith with the ladtS(om¥ had promoted thoßall. ' . Mr Keith snidthatall hewished waß that the Trustees, while fully recognising that instruments are required, would not pledge themselves to upend the whole amount in instruments. He would move this as an amendment. The amendment was not seconded. Mr Boddington's motion was then put and carried. The Treasurer's report road to the meeting showed a credit balance at date of £2819s 6d. ACCOUNTS. The following accounts were passed i for payment:—o. Hngbes, £4 5b 6d; J. Wickens, £2 8s 6d; B. F. Temple <Ss Co., £lO 16s lid; H. Jones, £2ssld; H.E.Elon,il6sald.
PATIENTS, The number of patients in tho Hospital at last meeting was 12 males; admitted during the month, 7 males and one female; discharged, 9 males; number of patients now at the institution, 10 males and one female.
HEPORT. Messrs Boddington, Dalrymple and Keith were appointed a committee to draw up the annual report. ORDINARY. Mr Dalrjmpla suggested thai it would be wise to put £IOO of tho 6150 recently subscribed on fixed deposit for six months, as it would not be immediately required.—Thisoous"- <y was adopted. .-'flPflh/ Mr J.
