THEATRE ROYAL.

The AlbuConcerts.

Owing to the continued wretched weather, - a large attendance to hear the second of the Albu concerts m the Theatre Royal last evening was not to be expeoted, ; Jiut a,moderate audience in aome measure compen* sated for what ; was lacking in numbers by giving hearty expression i to. : appreciation of the gifted entertainers. Tho Misses Albu were in. excellent yoioe, completely, .'oaptivaling the audience by the mngnilicent rendering of. Ao various items' allotted to them, as may be gathered from the fact that they ;irere, oncdred;fpr every number, as was also Mr John Fuller, the famous tenor, who though still unfortunately suffering from a Bevere cold acquitted himself right worthily. The appearance of Miss Jiilip 8.R.0.M., was tho signal for a offiH of applause, and although the charming singiug of Farmer's " l'il follow Thee" was much admired, it was when she sang "The Bong that v. Reached My Heart" tbat'Bherecehed a perfect ovation, this number- being undoubtedly the gem of the evening, Mifcs Rose Albu, who was received not less enthusiastically than her sister, rendered ljuok's ." When the Heart is Young'' in perfect style, and responded gracefully to an undeniable encore for what was certainly her best number, "luOupid's Court" in a sweetly .pretty manner. The duets "Ya Banks and Braes'.' and' " I know a Bank " were artistically, Bung by the Misses Albu, their voices blending beautifully, especially in the former, Mr John Fuller, notwithstanding his hoarseness, proved liis claim to rank as a tenor ot high order, and for hii rendering of "The Pilgrim of Love" was accorded a; vigorous; encore to which he good-naturedly responded by ' 1 singing Last Night" with pleasing effect. , /

All the wera fgain excellently played by Mrs Anketell, who also performed the overtures " William_ Tell"-and' "Poet and a Peasant" in a manner which refleoteij the greatest oredit on hor ability ai®.\ pianiste.
