PRESENTATION.

Hed Star Football Club.

A large number of members of the Bed Star Football Club assembled at the Empire Hotel on Saturday evening for the purpose of making a presentation to one of their number— Mr Wm. Iggulden-who is leaving Masierton. The presentation took the form of a very handsome marble clock, Btutably engraved, and an address Bigned by the members of tho Star Club, Mr E, M. D. Whatman

(late captain of tbo Masterlon Club) and others. Mr H, Wilsone, Captain of the Star Club, in making the presentation, spoke of the many good qualities possessed by Mr Iggulden as a footballer, and the loss tho Olub would sustain in his departure. Mr Igsuldenvery feelingly replied, stating that he felt at a loss for words to express his thanks for the honour they had conferred upon him, and be assured them that it would servo to remind him in the future of many a j well-fought battle in which he had taken part in the football field. He had been a member of the Red Star Football Olub for the last seven or eight years, and he had stuck to the club, although they had under' gone so many reverses of fortune. Ho advised those present to stick to their colors and not to lose courage if they should meet with reverses. He was very pleased to see Mr Whatman present, as it reminded him of many a tussle they had had in the scrums together. Once more he thanked them most heartily on behalf .of Mrs Iggulden and himself for the honour they had received, (Great applause). Mr E, M. D. Whatman, in response, said it gave him muob pleasure to speak a few words. He eulogised the manner in which Mr Iggulden bad stuck to his club, and spoke of him aB one of the staunchest fooiballers it had ever been his lot to meet.

Mr Iggulden's health was then drank in bumpers, and a most enthusiastic meeting terminated.
