DEATH OF SIR WILLIAM FOX.
(By Telegraph.—Press Association,) Auckland, Saturday. Sir William Fox, who has been grndually getting worse for some days past, died yesterday afternoon, in bis 82nd year, on the anniversary of his wife's death. Sir Geo. Grey has been visiting him of late, and called yesterday, but Sir William was too ill to see him.
His last publio appearance was at the laying of the foundation stone of the Saltation Army Barracks, on Queen's Birthday. He founded the N.Z, Alliance, to which he contributed £IOO a year, and his purse was ever open to every good work,
