Repeated Contradiction, [The Ektob, Wairarapa Dailt Times.]

Sir,—ln the concluding part of your sub-loader of to-day, you admit that you owe me an apology, but immediately follow up the admission by stooping to a subterfuge as contemptible as tho original fabrication, by stating that " The oxtromely deli- " caio negociation to whiob we ruferrod "was conduoted by his son, Mr "Richard Meredith, and not by hitn- " self," I thought the repudiation of your nnwnrrantable staioment was sufficiently emphatic and comprehensive, but it.would seem that it was not, I therefore now give an unqualified denial of having negocintcd as indicated, direotly or indirectly with oithor of tho gentlemen referred to by yon. As to your paltry inuendo in reforence to may son, you may deem yourself so far safe in his absenco froin the country inasmuch ss a npgative cannot be !provfid— but with the notoriety for inveracity and defamation which you havo establised for yourself and of which you havo so recently given Biich glaring proofs—your assertion of anything calculated to compromise is the signal for disbelief.—l am, etc. Edwin Meredith, Llandaff, June 28,1898.
