We wonder whether the members of a certain Memorial Committeo aro at last beginning to see what was obvious to most people long ago, that they nre insulting and degrading the memory of John Ballance by their rapaciousmetbod of demanding money in his name, Paid canvassers have raided the Empire City asking money at the very doors of even men like Mr Edwards, who have been almost mined by the Ministry of which Mr Ballance was head; a greedy eye has even been cast on the Chinamen, school children are being plagued, tho civil Btirvuntu have been badgered and pestered and the country flooded with begging petitions, The public are heartily sick of all Ibis and simply won't give. If the Committeo possess a particle of reaped for the memory of the late Premier they will cease to bring him into contempt by their vain and ridiculous efforts.
