REPORT of PETITION of RATEPAYERS.
A report on tho petition of ratepayers in the Alfredton Bond District, praying that the district be merged into the Wairarapa North County, was laid before the Wairarapa North County Council Meeting yesterday, and showed the total number of ratepayers to bo 146, tho rateable value of the Distriot being £121,236. The total number of signatures to the petition was 74, but five being deducted as irregular,reduce the number to 69 representing £70,479 in value, This gives a bare majority in number, and an excess of £9,851 in value, in favour of the petitioners. The report therefore recommended that the Council make the special order played for. The special order was made by the Council,
