CORRESPONDENCE.
[TO TUB EDITOR, W.D, TIMES,] i Sin, —I was very agreeably sur- . prised to notice in your Saturday's issue that Mr Clifford bud refunded the amount of his fee for musio supplied at tho Hospital Ball, I think ■ .the plan ho adopted of making a charge i for tho services ol bis Quadrille Band, and then refunding the same, was a 1 much moro preferable one than that i of Koisenberg's Orchestra, who offered i their services free, as, by the former . plan, the trustees are entitled to tho Government subsidy on tho amount charged, which will considerably augment tho proceedsof the ball,, lino. ' charge had been made, the result would have been an actual loss.fo the Hospital of ii 4s; and I also think that Clifford's Qundrilli; Band showed 1 great forbearance in not replying to . the somewhat sarcastio remarks made by " Terpsichore" in his letters to tho press on the suhjeot.—l nm, etc, Cms.
