Hii Honor, Judge Richmond, said itwas absolutely necessary to secure the public against persons of the prisoner's kind. Samuel Trudgeon,a youth, received 12 months for larceny. /Judge Richmond said tins was a case of an exceedingly weak minded youth, arid lie wished there was'some; separate:,way of treating oflendorsof this description. His Honor felt' disposed to send : liiin to a Criminal Lunatic Asylum, saying that there'.was no doubt;tl)at,a large number of the prisoners who stood at the bar should bo treated as lunatics, and not criminals.
