THE ALLEGED "LONG FIRM."
Mr Jellicoe Gains a Point, (By Telegraph.—Press Association), Wellington, Wednesday. The case of Crabtree and Goode was again mentioned in tho Supremo Court this morning. Mr Gully said the case was not one in which par" ticulars could be given, or in which they would be of auy use. The indictment was in tho usual form, and tho false pretence lay iu obtainiug goods without the intention to pay for them.
Mr Jellicoe said be wanted to tie the prosecution down to something. His Honour, Judge Kichniofld, said it was only fair that the prosecution should furnish the particulars of the charges, when they were of such a tender nature as this one,
After further argument, Mr Gully agreed to furnish the particulars of the statements accused made to Mr Uuhmgham, of Wellington, but said be did not see they would be of any assistance.
