FORFEITED CROWN LANDS.

'The officers at the Land Office, Wellington, have (says the Evening Press) been- unusually busy lately* preparing for aballot for forfeited land, which'was hold on Friday afternoon. The Coniniiß3ionor of Crora Lands recently invited applications of 26 sections of first and second class jßurvoyed;land, amounting in all to close 70(10 acres, which the original selectors' had forfeited, in consequence of non-fulfilment of the opndittonß of the Aot. The seotions' are situated in the survey distriots of Pohangina, Apiti, Ongo, Puketoi, Makuri, Mangahao, Mangaono, Kopufanga; Hau* rangi, Omahine, and Wainuloru. The upßet prices/.; per aore ranged from £3 10s down to 10s.
