MASTERTON TRUST LANDS.

Election of Trustees. The election of two Trustees to fill the vacancies caused on the above Trust, by the retirement by effluxion of time of Messrs William Lowes and H, E, Eton took place yesterday. A fair amount of interest was displayed in the contest and considering the weather the number of votes polled was rather large, Altogether 281 persons voted ; 218 males and 63 females. For Messrs Lowes and Lett 142 voted; for Messrs Lowes and Eton 76 and for Messrs Lett and Eton 5. Ten plumped for Lowes; 38 for Lett and 16 for Eton. The result of the poll was made known at about 20 minutes past six, and was as follows Lowes 229 Lett 181 Eton 9G Messrs Lowes and Lett were therefore declared duly elected, Mr Lett, who was present at the declaration briefly returned thanks to those whe had supported him.
