A J.P. CHARGED WITH ASSAULT.

Jfcw Plymouth, May 10. Goodman, a recently created J.P., was charged this morning, at the Resident Magistrate's Court with having, assaulted James C. George. Goodman was further charged with using profane, indecent and obscene language in a public place. George gave evidence that the defendant struck him on the back in front of the Government Buildings, and used the words, * 1 am still aim, b—-you. I will pull yortr nose next time yon insult me in your office.' and other forcible expreaslonsIn cross-examination the plaintiff admitted that he hadsome days befee told Goodman that ho was .very much disgusted with his action in signing an affidavit to the effect that the Grand Jury would not find a true bill in the dumtnyisni cases, which was insulting to thb community, 'fhe Grand Jury did find , true bills in all the caws.
