Mr Martin moved that the rate oi S-Sth of a penny in the £ bo confirmed, and tiat Messrs Donald and Matthews be appointed to sign the rate book, Mc Bidwill secondad the motion, which was carried. It w»s_ resolved on the motion of Mr Martin, that the public be cautioned by | advertisement against letting their cattle graze oa the roads. BEQUIEEMESIS 03? No B.—-Mir Matthews asked that, a man be sent down to attend to the road and culverts. So 4.—Mir Bidwill asked that the cttlverte on jibe Kahautara read be examined, and also permission to clean out a drain at Kahautara. No s.—Mr Martin complained that gorse Was very thick about some parts of bis district. Mr King's report on ths Waiheags Bridge was read aud the Board ad* journed for lunch. Tne Chairman stated that soma of the wardens had expressed a desire that rates in arrears be recovered in the Raf. Court. It was resolved on the motion of Mr MoLeod that Mr Moncrieff, the collector, be instructed to sue defaulting rate-payera without farther delay.
