Mr Benton remarked that the trees in the acre leased by the Board of Education, at the back of the school grounds, were growing too thickly in some places, whilo in other places there were gaps. Mr Benton thought it would bo a good plan to thin them out where thp.y were too thick and fill up some of the gaps witb the trees removed, Mr Porritt, who lookß after the trees very carefully, said tho bad weather had prevented any improvement lately. He thought tho trees needed thinning out in some places, but did not consider it would be worth while to transplant any, as they would not live. After considerable discussion {he matter w»b left in the hands of Mr Porritt. It was resolved, on the motion of Mr Tate, that a concert in aid of the school funds be L»ld some time in July, ______________
