Annual Meeting,

The annu-il general meeting of members of tho above Society was held on Saturday, ; Mr W; C.Buchanan (President) in tho,chair. 7~Y^

V;'>"'t Tho President, referring to the balance sheet, stated that last the Society had, a credit, balance of £CO, hut this year tl'.eyliad a debit bdhmcfi of.o littlo over £SOO, hut that occurred through the extensive alterations and improvements to the Society's g'roumk 110 also congratulated the members on the great improvement in the breeding of the stock exhibited at the lsst show, and further stated that the success of the .Society bad been greatly due to the cm rgetic /' abilities displayed ;by the Secretary (Mr E. W; Dorset), Speaking on the prices obtained for. butter in the Old .Country lie stated, that tho Victotian butter, fetched a far better price tlmn the N.Z. butter, simply because Victoria only sent the factory-made; article, whereas the butter makers of N;Z. did not favour the factoiy butter. 1 N,Z, cheese on the other-hand fetched as high, a price as that from any other part of the world.:

Beard for hia energy and kiridness in procuring the extra piece of land for the Society. :■%.
