The Chrysanthemum Bhow of the Masterton Horticultural Sociecy, held yesterday in the Temperance Hall, was, in spite of tlio efforts of the Secretary, hardly the success it should have been, owing to the «maH entries received. The weather was also very much against the attendance, and prevented manyb.sing present who take a thorough interest in Horticultural matters. The principal exhibitors were Messrs T. Dixon, J. Stone, and H. S. Izard, who carried off all the honours between them. The show of cut blooms was an exceptionally good one, and competent judges pronounced many of the specimens to be equal to anything in the Wellington district, and-we understand that MrT. Dixon intends competing at the forthcoming Wellington Show with soma of theplantarhowu yesterday. Pot plants were notnumerous.butallthoseshown were well grown ana healthy. The interesting collection of curies from the Masterton Museum were & great addition to the exhibition, and made up for the somewhat-meagre display of flowers. Mr T. Bannister also kindly lent a sea leopard's skin, the skin of a young sea lion, and a splendid specimen of the king penguin. The list of prize takers is as follows :
