London, April 19. Lord Salisbury addressing » meeting of tbe Primrose League said he did not believe the House oi Commons would permit the employment of tbe soldiery to enforce autonomy in Ireland. The Lordß would continue to rtiject tbe Bill if passed, for they were poracaJed that Home Rule in Ireland would certainly -wreck tbe integrity of Great Britain. All the cultured, wealthy, and enterprising among tbe Roman Catholics of Iraland joined in the Protestants protest against Home Rale. Autonomy would remove the keyetone of the Constitution.
The seamen and firemen are opposing tbe settlement of the strike on the terms proposed. The Shipping Federation will insist on Unionists and non-Unionists being permitted to work in. harmony, and on the stevedores and shipping clerke being at liberty to ha? 9 unions. The terms of settlement do not include seamen.
The members of the Hoqes v?ho are interested -will hold another conference.
Mr C. H." Wilson, Bf.F., the shipowner, is anxious to bring the crisis to an end.
Bome, April 20, The Emperor and Empress of Gercaanv and the Duke of York have arrived to take part in the celebrations in honor of the silver wedding of the King and Queen of Italy. Tbe event ia causing considerable enthusiasm and the city is brilliantly decorated, while there is also a great display by the troops.
