Sir,-You say in yourcolumns that a lottor by Mr S. Jones, charging me with negleot of duty, was withdrawn through pressure,:l can only say that I deny the negleot of duty; that 1 had nothing to do in any way with the letter being withdrawn; and tliatl ask Mr Jones or any other person with a complaint against me, to come before the Oounoil like a man, and make Lis complaint good if he can. lam continually being attacked in this way without having a say in the matter at all. Only the other day, the Wairarapa Star devoted an article to my shortcoming, because I did not break the Borough by-laws to please tho young man in the Star office, who, 1 believe, edits that journal, I think you will agree with'me that any complaint should be made direct to the Oounoil, without all the side-wind and unfair play that goes on,—l am, etc,, Georoe Maokihiobb Wood,
