A Challenge.
[To the Editor W.D, Times.] Sir,—A great deal has been said and written by the Prohibition party j against tho liquor trade. Presumably tho cause of all tho trouble is tho exce.snvo uso—or the abuse—of | drink. It has been amusing—to some—to watch tho one-sided warfare viz,, Teetotaller versus Publican, bat now matters are progressing a little. Tho" Temperance Reformer" at last wakes up to the fact that ho wants Piohibition. Sow, sir, I would like very much to have this matter explained and argued, notfrom the point of the publican, or tho drunkard, bat from that of the moderate drinker, and I shall be glad to know as one of the latter—whose vote will count if the struggle comes to a finish—why the Prohibition party want to prohibit the sale of liquor and upon what grounds they base their demands, 1 shall be glad to argue the matter amicably it your Prohibition party will agreo to confine themselves strictly to right.—Yours etc., Moderation.
