Bawera, March 28, Out fortnightly Stock sale at B:ratford- which was held a day earlier i than usual, owing to the right date falling to St. Patrick's day—was only moderately well attended, though the entries of cnttlo were much in excess of the numbors advertised. There was considerable flatncsß in the bidding, no one appearing anxious to' buy, bo that at the close of the sale many lines returned home unsold! We quote 2 to 2$ year steers, £3 6s fid to £9l7s; 12 to 18 months steers, #2 10a to £3; cows and heifers in calf, £8 JOs to £5 ss; empty heifers, £2 128 Gd to £4, We had another large sale.of stock in the Glover Road Yards, Hawera.on Wednesday, the 22nd inst,, a large number of both cattle and sheep being Offered for sale, the bulk of the former being fat and forward steers of prime quality, .Although there were plenty of purchasers present; they did not feel disposed to givethe teserves asked, so that little business was done.at the hammer, though the majority of stock changed hands before leaving the yards.
