REFORM SPECIAL SETTLEMENT ASSOCIATION.

Ballot far Sections. About forty-five members of the above Association met in the Foresters' Hall last night to ballot for sections, a number of friends of the members bejog also present, Mr A. W. Hogg, M.H.8,, Ohoirman of the Association, presided. After the despatch of the ordinary routine business Commieaioner Baker, acoonjpaaied by his private secretary {JIr Fftnnin), Vas admitted, discasaion took place as to wtethey the Association was in favour of taking up the land under the special settlement conditions of 1880, or whether they preferred to take it up under the new Apt of 1892. It T7&S unanimously decided to take np tbß land under tha Act of 1893. MrCotpmissioijer Pgker explained fnlly the duties of the selectors, and the conditions under whiph the l&nd would bo fcajfen up, and at the conclusion of the meeting, whioli did not conclude till near midnight, he was awarded a hearty vote of thanks for the fair and impartial manner in whicli he had conducted the ballot.
