Masterton v. Pahiatua. (From Our Own Correspondent), Pahiatua, Saturday. The team which left Masterton on Thursday ovening arrived at Pahiatua shortly before midnight, -after a ploasant drivo. The match started at 10 a,m on Friday, Tbo ground was soft, and the weather fine, Two courts were availablo for play, and the match was decided by points, 100 up, The doubles were played first, and resulted as follows:—Perry and D'Arcy beat Tosswill and 6, H. Smith, 100 to 88; Soyoiour and Knight beat Elder and Donald, 100 to 85; C. Smith and E. Smith beat Kowley and Broad, 100 to 85. The play was slow as the ground was very soft. At this stage an adjournment for lunch, provided by the home tpam, was made. The Singles resulted as follows:—Tosswill 100, beat D'Arcy 81; Perry 100, beat G. H. Smith 86; Rowley 100, boat E, Smith 78 ; Donald 100, beat Knight 84, A thunder shower then stopped the play leaving two incompleted singles, tho match being decided on tho oompleted games, Masterton Gsl pointe, Pahiatua and Woodville 636. Afternoon tea was provided by Mrs Tosswill, (he team being treated well, The team left lb e same evening for Palmerston North
