MASTERTON.-MONMY. (Before Messrs E, Smith and Wood« roofe.) > ILLEGALLY ON PREMISES, Wm. Downos was charged on tho information of Madame Le Brand, with illegal trespass on 6th March on her premisos and with refusing to leave whou requested to do so. Mr Bunny for informant. Accused pleaded guilty. Mr Bunny stated that he did not think tho informant desired a hoary penalty, but wished to make it an example to larrikins generally. Janet Le Brand, sworn, stated she was a palmist and lived in Queenstreet, Masterton. At about half past four in the afternoon the accused and another came to tho house and asked to have his hand read, Witness told them tin's was not tho tirao, and requested them to leave. The other offender got into the house by the back door, and thoy would not leave, but used the most offensive language. The accused was not so offensivo as his companion, Accused said ho went the next morning to apologise, Witness: "It was rather a funny way to apologise to corao and knock at the bedroom window and moke use of abusive language" Accused: But you opened the back door, and told me to go and see your solicitor. The Court imposed a Gno of J}l and costs 7e, counsel's feo 21s, or in default seven days' imprisonment in Wellington gaol, Mr Bunny applied that the summons against tho other offender, Woods, should bo enlarged, This was granted, '
