[By Tolegraph.-Pross Association.] GiißißTouunon, Thursday, The sale of the stock, plant, etc., of tho Cheviot estate was continued yostorday, and satisfactory prices were realised. The aggregate result of the sale of the sheep is estimated at £46,000. Sftrat' parties have been ' over tho a deputation from , the West Melton Settlement was ' satisfied that on a part of the land there was room for dairy (arming, as well as grain growing. Opinions, j howeter,_ differ, and the goneral opinion is that the sections should contain from 1000 to 2000, so that pastoral farming may be taken up. ! Tho Minister of Lands and Messrs Sandford and Tann6r, M.H.tt's have ; boenoverthe estato, buthavenotmade ' their opinions known. The sale of ' implements is proceeding to-day, but ' buyers of stock woro preparing to [ leave this morning.
