The Egmont Farmers' Union, Limited, Hawera, March 2, Our monthly sale at Okaiawa was held on Thursday, the 23rd ult,, and was well-attended, there being a large entry of cattle, The attendance was good and bidding brisk, so that nearly everything was sold under the hammer, We quote: Forward bullocks, 96s to 107s; 18-months to 2-year steers, 55s to 72s 6d; weaners and yearlings, mixed, 21s to 54s 6d; fat cows 82s to 86s; heifers and cows in calf, 72s to 90s; 12 to 18-months, mixed, 48s Gd to 575, Sheep: Woolly lambs, 7s to 9s Bd, Horses; E, Collin's draughts £l7 10s to £2O 10s j hacks, £$ to £lO ss,
There was a rather small sale of ! horses at tho Union-street yards, on Saturday, the 25tli ult,, the wet weather, doubtless, keeping many from coming forward, though the class of what were there was rather better than usual, so that a good many changed hands before leaving the yards. We quote: Harness horses, £6l2s 6d to £l4; haoks, £3 7s 6d to £l2 2s Gd,
We had a large entry of both sheep and cattle at Manaia, on .Wednesday, the Ist iost., considerably more coming forward than were advertised, so that the yards were very full indeed, The day, unfortunately, proved wet, but the attendance was very large, and, we bad a good sale, clearing nearly all tho cattle, though sheep were difficult to place. We quote: 2 to 2J year steers, £Bl9s to £4 10s Gd; 18 months ditto, £2lss Gd to £8 6s 6d. Pat cows, £BISB to £4 4s; cows and i calves, £4 2s to £5 2s 6d; empty cows,£3 8s 6d to 68 15s. Sheep: 4 and 6-tootlmes, lis to 12a Id; 2 tooth ewes and wethks, lis 8d to llsj ; coolly lawbs,
