INDEPENDENT ORDER OF RECHABITES.
Twenty-first Annual District Meeting. Tho twenty-first annual general district meeting of -tho New Zealand Ceiimil District of tho Independent Order of Rechabites was commenced in the Powers' Hall, Gill street, New Plymouth, at 10 o'clock on Wednesday morning. Bros, H. Fonnell villo), U. Dixon (No. 38, Master ton), T. Foster (No. 42, Cat tenon), and J. Neilson, (No. 53, Feathorston), represented ibis district. Tho report of the District Officers was road and received. From this report it was shown that one Tent had beon closed, and tlireo new Tents opened since last district meeting. Tim total meml)eishi|i at present is 1325, being an increase of 230 since last re| ort, The financial state of tho district funds in the keeping ol the District Officers Funeral, .E29BG 14s 4d; contingent, £144 lis 3d; benevolent, £l4B 19s 10d; Tent relief, 1718 12a 4d. Total, .£8998 17s Oil. Tho sicl; funds of the various Tents amount to £13,422 4s od, and tho contingent funds £13,698 15s lid. The latter amount, added to the amount hold by tho District Officers gives a grand total of 117,697 13s Bd, being an increase of £2883 IDs 7d since the last report, Great satisfaction was expressed at tho increase in membership, especially iu tho juvenile branch, and tho thanks of the district were accorded to Bro. T, Fathers. P.H.C.E., tho Juvenile Superintendent, for tho interest and labour he had brought to bear on this important branch of tho Order,
