ALFREDTON ROAD BOARD.
Ordinary Meeting, : The ordinary monthly meeting of i tbo Alfredlon Road Board was hold on Saturday, February 4th. Present —Messrs H. Dunn (Chairman), J. Boustead.T.H. Groves, Cecil Kebfrflflfc_ bell, and S. M. George, ]£&*. CORRESPONDENCE was received from the Commissioner of Crown Lands re thuds, From tho Treasury stating that 75 per cent of tho subsidy (LIB 2s Gd) i bad beon banked, Also that tho i L 2,500 Fori Loan bad passed the audit, but that tho steps tukan in connection with tbo Mangaono and Pah Valley loans weronot approved, From the Bank of New Zealand, acknowledging receipt of L 2,500 for G.L. io L.B, account, and enclosing F.D, receipt for L 27 19s Id. Also cheque for L 7 ss. \ From J. A. Smith ro expenditure j of thirds in township, j TAH CREEK. It was decided to oall tendors for tho Pah Creek Bridge, tenders to close on February 18tb, the work to bo finished by April Ist, It was resolved that tho Chairman and Mr 8. M, Georgobo appointed a Committee jogjgjl with tenders, and that £SOO and Mangaono Valley Roads be applied for at once, and that tenders bu called for contracts on these roads, CORRESPONDENCE. Mr C. A. Pownall, on behalf of Mr Wm. Cross, wrote, claiming £IOO for trespass, A resolution was passed denying Mr Cross' claim for £2G damages on the old road lino (Ihuraua Valley) laid off by Mr Lindsay Jackson, and offering compensation for the land included in Mr Beaufort's deviation, now being taken under tho Public Works Act, tbo amount of Buch compensation to bo settled by arbitration, It was further resolved that a copy of this resolution bo forwarded to Mr Pownall with a reply to his letter, BARTON'S LINK, The Maurieevillo Boad Board wrote ro Ihuraua Road loan (Barton's Line). The Clerk was instructed to write Pfl|, to the Maurieevillo Road Board askPffiP fog what proportion of the lean the Alfredton Board was desired to raise, GENERAL, A resolution was passed that the Bum of £1142 (part of the Pori Road loan) be placed on fixed deposit for six months, The Clerk was instructed to call for tendors for the Mangaono and Tiraumea bridges if plans arrivo, Messrs J, Boustead and S, M. George wero appointed to sign cheques, Accounts amounting to JEt<2llos wore passed for payment, Messrs Boustead and George were appointed to sign contracts for the pori Road works, Tho Board "then, adjourned until MavoU itb, 1803,
