[By Umpire.] The Homewood oricket team being anxiousfora gameyesterday, a scratch team from the Musterton and Trades men ■ Clubs was obtained, and an interesting match resulted. Tifi Masterton team included some veterans, and the result of the game was never in doubt. Homowood went first to the wickets, but a rather poor stand was made, the total only numbering 32 runs. Dash played pretty oricket for twehe, and hart the misfortune to knock tho bails off with his bat, when he had just settled down to work. Whatman, who went in first for Masterton,made a fine stand, and was not dismissed by Dash .before he had himself outnumbered the total of the opposing team. Leeks, with 12, was the only other one to enter double figures. The innings ended for 79 runs.

With 48 runs to avert a one innings defeat, Homewood again went to the wickets, but were all dispersedfor 42, the bowling of Broad and Elder being excellent. Tatham was top scorer with 15, the others retiring before they were properly set. This left Masterton victorious by an innings and six runs. The following are the scores:— MASTEMON IST INNINGS.
