Smokers v. Non-smokers. An interesting match was fired as above at the Papawni (Groytown) range yesterday afternoon, resulting in a win for the non-indulge.rs by ten points. The range was 500 yds, ten shots each. As there were only (ire smokes present an uvorago was struck at the conclusion of the match for a sixth man. Tlio weather was very bad for shouting, orrattc winds blowing and heavy rains falling during tho competition. Notwithstanding this Messrs H, Waldon and A. L Webster made excellent shooting, with seven bulls' eyes in succession, 2 magpies, and an outer each, making a total of 43, Tbo following were the scores:— NON-SMOUERS. H.Walden 43 P. C, Rutherford 89 E. R, L. Rutherford 38 T. J. Eowso 38 T.Fisher 32 Capt. Cameron 28 Total 213 SMOKERS. A. L. Webster 43 U.S.lzard 40 U, Morison 31 G.Flux 31 A. McKenzio 22 Average for man short 30 Total 203 In tho event of the proposed return match with Featherston-Kaiwaiwai not taking placo next Thursday, another match between the indulgers of the fragrant weed, and the nonindulgers (the range to bo 600 yards) will bo held.
