MASTERTON RAM FAIR.
Saleoj Lincolns,
Messrs Lowes and lorns report that the first day of the Ram Fair under the auspices of th» Masterton A and P. Association, held in their sale-' yards yesterday passed off uiore successfully than was generally anticipated. The operations were conlined to Lincolns, of which Mr Lowes, who acted as auctioneer, put through the ring 600, nearly all 2-tooth, At the commencement of thesale bidding was decidedly slow, but as the favorite strains of blood appeared more life was seen, and although the prices were not quite so good as at last year's fair, vendors, all of whom expected a reduction, were fairly well satisfied. Flook Liucolus brought from B|gs to 6 Jgs, studs from Ggs to 20ga. A considerable number were passed, but a large proportion of them found purchasers privately at satisfactory figures, Messrs Webb and Co, C. E, Cockburn-Hood and J.
