Being the extended tike of the Wairakapa Daiiy, with which it is identical '
The Auckland National Association of New Zealand is reforming the Legisv lative Council, There are two National Associations up that way, one of a Grey colour, and the other, any other colour but Grey, This one is the anti-Grey lot, and is distinguished by its exolusiveness. For example, it holds that candidates for tho Legislative Council should not have been guilty of felony. No doubt, the Grey Association will take the opposite view and denounce the illiberally of the anti-Greyitefl. However, the latter have decided on an elective chamber,, because the existing system has brokeD down, The Association does not prove that it has broken down, but it sayß somebody else says sn. For our part we are disposed to believe that tho Legislative Council is still efficient, It has certainly been abused by the present Ministry, but in political knowledge, experience, and integrity, it is still far ahead of tho popular chamber. Cannot the Auckland National Association reform something else ?
