Mr M. Kennedy wrote, objecting to the rating for the proposed loan for Ihuraua Road, and subsequently wrote again withdrawing his objection, Tim County Clerk wrote, informing the Board that Mr J. W. Andersen hod been appointed Hunger on the County roads. In reply to a request for information, the Secretin y to the Treasury stated (bat a joint loan cannot be prantell to two Road Boards under thii Government lons to Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1886, it would require to to raised in tome other manner. Tho loans of £IOOO for Mount Bruce Eoad end £l2O for Uor.et's Bridge urt' no« avnilublo. The following tenders wore received for im tilling on UrovHis ltock Komi. Leslie D-rset, £2 6s per chain (accepted) ; W. Keatree, £3 (informal); T. K. Jacobsen, £2 15s; Frudencksen and Jacobs n, £2 8s; P.Carr, 13 8.; C. W. VHfcn, £2 12s 9J; K. Cairo!, £8 6s. * It was decided to take immediate legal steps to recover all rate* which aro more than twolve months <in airear. . Messrs Heckler and Bannister were authorised to got the Wungacbu road given a general overhaul during the dry weather. It was also resolved that the mettailing on Jackson's road should be repaired, and portions of the North and South Maurioevillo roads re-niot-talled. The Chairman and Messrs Heckler and Auderson wero appointed to interview Mr Falkner ro plans for Mount Bruce Eoad and Dorset's Bridge, and to call for tenders for these works as soon as the plans are ready. The clerk was instructed to communicate with the Alfredton Board respecting the loan for the Ihuraua Eoad.
Cheques amounting to £B6 5s 4d were passed for payment. Bates collected since last meeting £3l 10s,
