TERRIFIC BOILER EXPLOSION.

A Central News telegram from New York to a London paper says a shockins affair occurred on Saturday, 12th i November, at a mill in the town of r Austin, in Pennsylvania, While work i was in progress tho whole building was shaken to its foundation by the i bursting of a largo boiler, and forthwith the employ 6s, Lumbering several ; hundreds, wero seiswd with panic. Rushing from.tho different depart* ments, tho-orowds met oa tho landings,and therebecamo jammed. Scenes ot awful struggling ensued, and the result was that many of the unfortunate peoplo were thrown down and trampled upon in such a manner that a considerable number who are now in the hospital are not expected to recover, although only three persons wero actually killed by the explosion, According to Dalziel, "Beveral pieces of- tlio boiler struck a dwelling house at a distance of 500 feet, and took tho roof off. An immenso water tank was blown into the air, and descended on the top of two box cirs, whioli were completely destroyed. Another pieco of the boiler struck a number of Hat cars on a siding. The cars, which were load, d with Blabs, were started by the force of the concussion, and rushed down an incline into the water of tho dock. Tho scuoblhouso was , completely wrecked, Tho dead I include the engineer, a fireman, whose j neck was broken, an assistant fireman, who was driven into a heap of s sawdust and suffocated, and a man 1 who was blown to atoms while lie was wheeling slabs into the elevator," '
