MASTERTON REFLE VALUNTEERS.
After tho parade Inst evening, a general meeting of members of the Masterlon Sifle Volunteer Corps was held, Captain C. A. Pownall presiding, The Chairman said that ho intended applying to the Dofouco Department to have the Company formed into a Mountedlofantry Corps. Sergeant Murray proposed that all irregular members who had not attended parades during tho past year bo dismissed from tho corps, and also that the members, who had not put in their eighteen parades be sued for tho amount of capitation, and that efforts be made to induce good recruits to join.
Corporal Wbitt seconded the motion.
Lieutenant Hooper moved as an amendment that tho meeting stand adjourned until Thursday, the 26th inst,, when there would probably be moro men on parade. This was seconded by Sergeant G. Bentloy and carried.
