Accident to a Goods Train

Auckland, Thursday,

A. goods train for Waikato met with 'an accident beyond Rangiriri, through a cnlvsrt being undermined. Some of the cars fell into a creek, but no one was in them.

Thos. McLaughlin, a Sydney passenger by the Miowera, who was coming hero for the benefit ot his health, is reported missing. The polico are enquiring into the case,

Mrs Amelia Matsou, a candidate for tho Parnell Borough Council, was defeated by three votes.
