Howo, of Wellington, and McCarthy, of Auckland, have tied for tho Carbine Cup with 85 each, Tho day after tho meeting closes tho Pctono Rifle Club will corapeto for ft gold watch won by the Petono team at tho New South Wales mooting, The positions of tho champions on Saturday evening was:—Rose (Auckland) 280 ; Kirk (Oatuaru) 227 j Kennedy l Napier) 270; A. Balliuger, Wellington, who made 31, theiraggregates being 304, Mooscman, Wauga> nui, also got on 31, and ties for the fifth and sixth place with Humphries, Napier, 302, the latter only made 28, Strachan, Alexandra Cavalry, seventh with 298, Kennedy, Napier, eighth, 206, district Repmentatiue Hatch. &w ' j"On\y two districts as constituted by prao Association, viz, Olago and Southland and Taranaki, Wangauui and Napier, have sufficient volunteers entered at the meeting to compete in the district represcntativo match, unleßS tho proposal to allow members of Rifle Club's to take part, is carried. Tho number of Volunteers and Rifle Club reps., from each district is; —Auckland, 19 Volunteers and 1 Rifle Club; Taranaki, Wanganui and Napier, 29 Volunteers and 9 Rifle Club reps.; Wellington and Wairarapa, 10 Volunteers and 28 Riflo Club rops,; Nelson, Marlborough and Westland, 4 Volunteers and 0 Rifle Club Reps; Canterbury, 17 Volunteers and 8 Riflo Club reps.; Otago and Southland, 20 Volunteers and 17 Rifle Club reps, The question will be decided this afternoon.
