The Chairman pointed out that tho founding of scholarships was a part of their duty as well as the assistance of those whoso means did not permit them to take advantage o( scholarships gained. After further discission Mr Feist moved and Mr Lowes seconded that the further consideration of the mat* ter bo left over until next meeting, The motion was carried, ma brigades. Tho Masterton Borough Council wrote, asking tho Trust to allow theui to leaso.section 71, at tho corner of ChuriWand Dixon streets for the purporc of erecting a Fire Brigade Sbjron and stable. Tho Chairman said it would be necessary to refer to the matter again after receiving tho Committee's report ro leases, The report was then read. Mr Lowes said tho section Hip Borough Council wished to lease was the section on which stood buildings, regarding which tho committee recommended that tho owner be called upon to repair. Ho thought it would be well to appoint a committee to see what tho Council required, It was decided to appoint some day on which the Trustees, representatives of tho Borough Council, and the Captain of the Fire Brigado might meet and inspect, the section. Mr Feist considered that the best way of re-letting tho leases which had lapsed would bo by public auction, Mr Kenall said they were not bound to put up the sections o auction, The Chairman thought they would Lave a lot of extra trouble if they collected the rents, instead of selling the leases. Mr Feist moved, and Mr Eton seconded, that tho half acre lately leased by Mr T, Kelliher bi put up to public auction. It was decided that the clerk write to Mr A. R, Bunny, intimating that the leaso of part town aero 71 expired on December 31st, 1892, and that a committee appointed by the Trust , has inspected the building and find V that tho cotta«v/iccupied by C, Davis ■Hftfraod windows, in order that the MBnditiona of the lease may ho complied with, and call upon Mr Bunny to have the repairs referred to executed without delay, The meeting, after consideration ol the rents in arrears, then adjourned.
